Zinkwazi Beach: Zinkwazi Lagoon and beach conservancy can be found just 85km North of Durban, 50 km from Ballito, 5 – 6 hours from Gauteng and 60 km from King Shaka International Airport.

Known as the last undiscovered jewel of the North coast of KZN, with a subtropical lagoon and beach paradise of the fish eagle, Zinkwazi is one of the few unspoilt, idyllic, beaches left in Southern Africa.

A 7km lagoon situated among the lush palms of the Zinkwazi conservancy, 180 species of bird life and endless beaches. A place to rest in peace with fishing, nature walks and a safe protected main beach. The beach is wide and one can walk for miles on end. The lagoon which runs on to the beach breaks its banks after heavy rains and joins the ocean.

Close to Zululand’s wealth of splendid Game Reserves. For those who love golf, there are several excellent golf courses in easy driving distance e.g. Darnall country club and Prince’s Grant.

The village itself consist of around 500 – 600 properties, mostly second and third holiday homes, providing ample holiday accommodation. Permanent residence are 20 – 30% of the village, those are the people who only own shorts, t-shirts and flip-flops.

Zinkwazi sports a very active Ski-boat club with bar on the beach, a Fishing charter operation and diving school, a well-stocked Convenience store, Hair dresser and Physiotherapist.

One can get a bite to eat at Zinkwazi Café (light lunches and brekkies), Lagoon Lodge restaurant or sportsbar, or the Darnall Club in Darnall.
