Zinkwazi is one of the rare, beautiful, unspoiled, idyllic, beaches left in Southern Africa. Close to Zululands wealth of splendid Game Reserves. A 7 km lagoon situated among the lush palms of the Zinkwazi conservancy, 250 species of bird life and endless beaches. A place to rest peacefully whilst still enjoying fishing, birding and nature walks. The beach is wide and fairly level and one can walk for miles on end. The lagoon which runs on to the beach breaks its banks after heavy rains and joins the ocean.
The village itself consist of around 650 properties, mostly holiday accommodation. There is a very active Ski-boat club with bar on the beach, a fishing charter operation, a well-stocked convenience store and Prouds’ pizza cabin. The pristine Zinkwazi Beaches have rock pools for the kids to play in or make for excellent rock and surf fishing.
The main Zinkwazi swimming beach is protected by shark nets and there is a licensed boat launch from our deep sea angling club Mahogany Reef. The lagoon is easily accessible from the top of the village. There are famous championship golf courses down the Kwa Zulu Natal coastline i.e Princes Grant, Umhlali, Zimbali all just 15 – 20 mins away.
Big five malaria free game reserves, Hluhluwe and well known nature reserves such as Lake Eteza, Mapelane and St Lucia are within two and a half hours from Zinkwazi Beach.
Only 85 km North of Durban only 5-6 hours from Gauteng, plus minus 30 minutes to King Shaka International Airport which has a shuttle service.
